Every year in the U.S. more than 480,000 people die from tobacco use and exposure to secondhand

smoke, making it the leading cause of preventable death in this country. Each day thousands of kids still

pick up a tobacco product for the first time. Smoking cigarettes and using other tobacco products, including cigars, smokeless tobacco or vaping, which includes e-cigarettes, can cause numerous diseases and conditions.

Cigarettes have been around for a long time, but there is new information that you need to know.

Electronic smoking products, such as vapes or e-cigarettes are now commonly used. How much is

known about these products, and are they safe? If you use these products and want to quit, find out what resources are available.

The Penn State Extension is offering this free, informational workshop on tobacco, vaping, and cessation at Adams Memorial Library.  Interested adults and teens can register at the adult circulation desk or by calling 724-539-1972.
