The staff member should visit a COVID testing site for a test. According to the Johns Hopkins study, negative results when a person is symptomatic are very rare, so a person can get tested as soon as he/she begins having symptoms and receive a valid result.
- If the staff member tests positive, visit the resource guide for when a staff member tests positive for COVID-19.
- If a staff member tests negative and has not been in close contact with a person who tested positive for COVID, ask him/ her to stay home until he/she is asymptomatic. (Source)
