Socrates Cafe is an affiliate of the Society of Philosophical Inquiry. New members are always welcome. We believe a diversity of opinion is important for a true exchange of ideas. The group meets the first Monday of each month. Register online at www.murrysvillelibrary.org or call the library at 724-327-1102.
The topic this month is “Examining the pros and cons of different governments: which would work best for the U.S.?” We will examine the pros and cons of several types of government. Refer to the CIA World Factbook (https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/field/government-type) for a definition of the types of government, and for the type of government countries have. E.g., the U.S. has a “constitutional federal republic.” Note that more than one type of government can apply to a country. (The U.S. has three types applied to it.) Should we (could we) add another government type to our country? Moderator: Lew Ruffing
