You can once again check-out an “experience” at your local public library. (Don’t worry, books are still available too!)
Public Libraries in Westmoreland County are once again offering FREE passes to local museums. The libraries have partnered with 6 county museums making passes available for check out with your library card: Lincoln Highway Experience, West Overton Village, Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Greensburg Fire Department Museum, Fort Ligonier, and Bushy Run Battlefield.
Passes are good for free admission for two adults and up to four children. Each public library has one pass per museum available for check-out which can be requested through the catalog at wcl.link/Museum24. There is no fee to borrow a museum pass. Passes can be checked-out for one week, but because of their high demand, passes may not be renewed.
Westmoreland County Libraries began offering museum passes in 2023 and are very pleased to have expanded the number of participating museums for 2024. We are grateful to our museum partners and hope that we can continue to grow this partnership.
Museums open a whole new world to visitors. In-person experiences are a great way for families to not only spend time together but learn new things together. There is a lot to discover at your local public library and Westmoreland County.
